Between 1984 and 2004, Taylor recorded the life onshore and offshore, of men involved in the oil industry in Scotland.
Through her diaries and images Taylor recalls the evocative days of the black gold. Above all, Taylor celebrates the individuals she met, the men far from home and those that died on Piper Alpha

In memory of 169 men who were killed on the Piper Alpha Platform, 6 July 1988.

This memorial was erected by Aberdeen City Council and The Piper Alpha Families and Survivors Association. It was funded by public and private funds.
Taylor sculpted the memorial figures at Scottish Sculpture Workshop, Lumsden, Aberdeenshire. These figures were cast into bronze at Burleighfield Casting Studios, High Wickham, Buckinghamshire. This memorial was unveiled by the Queen Mother in 1991at Hazelhead Park, Aberdeen.
